Ego is the part of the iceberg above water and is defined by our need to be right. Essence is the core of who we are. It is the alive and unique part of us that always strives to grow and be in a state of constant learning.
Think of essence as being the beautiful, brilliant diamond at our core. At some point early in our lives, we come to believe that we’re not good enough so we cover that most precious part of ourselves with manure to hide from the world. Then we think that we cannot go out into the world looking and smelling like that so we cover the manure with red finger nail polish…so people will like and admire us.
Guess what? You’re already, always perfect, made in God’s image. At my “Get Out of Your Own Way” beach retreat, we will strip away what keeps you from being the brilliant jewel you were born to be.
